Urbas, 68, of Parkersburg Road, died Tuesday, March 3, 1986, at his home. Born in Vale Summit, Md., he was a son of the late Anton Urbas and Theresa (Likar) Urbas. An Army veteran of World War II, he served with Gen. Patton and also was in the Battle of the Bulge with the 80th Division. A retired employee of ABL, he was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg; Frostburg Council 1442 Knights of Columbus and Pope John 23d Council 5450, Cresaptown, Md. He also was a member of Farrady Post 24, American Legion; Old Rail Post VFW, Mount Savage, Md. and Allegany Beagle Club. A manager of many teams in the Bi-State League, he played professional baseball with the Washington Senators. Surviving are his widow, Helen (Will) Urbas; a son, David F. Urbas, Parkersburg Road; three brothers, Anton Urbas, Vale Summit, Md.; John Urbas, Meyersdale; William Urbas, Midland, Md.; seven sisters, Mrs. Rose Stakem, Midland, Md.; Mrs. Mary McKenzie, Frostburg, Md.; Mrs. Helen Hardesty, Springs; Mrs. Nettie Kelly, Lonaconing, Md.; Mrs. Margaret Arnold, Vale Summit, Md.; Mrs. Dorothy Warnick, Grantsville, Md.; and Mrs. Elizabeth McKinley, Hagerstown, Md. and one grandson. Friends were received at the Sowers Funeral Home in Frostburg, Md. The Republic, March 13, 1986 [U069]
