  VALENTINE
  
  Amelia L. Valentine, 88, of Trostletown Road, Stoystown, died Feb. 9, 1998,
  at Somerset Hospital.  Born June 13, 1909, in Garrett County, Md.  Daughter
  of Henry and Anna Christina (Bowers) Merrbach.  Preceded in death by
  parents; husband Oscar; 16 brothers and sisters; 4 grandchildren, and one
  great-grandchild.  Survived by these children: Oscar Jr., married to the
  former Nancy Jane Schall, Youngstown, Ohio; Anna Christina Jones, Somerset;
  Marie King, and John Earl Sr., married to the former Winona Frampton, both
  of Stoystown, and Mrs. Joseph (Emma) Shippey, Acosta; 19 grandchildren, 36
  great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.  A member of Worldwide
  Church of God of Indiana and Johnstown, Pa.  Family will receive friends
  from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown,
  where service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Pastor John Kurnik
  officiating.  Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown.
