Born Jan. 29, 1911, in Connellsville, daughter of the late Austin and Vina (Brown) McVicker. Preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Vallas Sr.; a son, Nicholas Jr.; sisters. Edna Miller, Rubye Seiler and Mary Louise McVicker; a brother, Howard McVicker; an uncle and an aunt, Dr. and Mrs. H. W. Hay. Survived by the following children: Marjorie Vallas and James Vallas, daughter-in-law, Donna (Debald) Vallas, all of Pittsburgh; a grandson, Lance Vallas, Butler; sisters: Betty Minor, Rockwood, and Eva Jean Haddad, Pittsburgh; brother, Jack B. McVicker, Somerset; sister-in-law, Kittye McVicker, Rockwood; brother-in-law, George Haddad, Pittsburgh. She was graduated from Rockwood High School in 1930, and Indiana State Teachers College. She later received a B.A. and master's degree from University of Pittsburgh. She was a retired teacher, supervisor and principal of Pittsburgh Public Schools. There was no viewing of remains or receiving of friends. Interment was Saturday Feb. 22 at the Rockwood IOOF Cemetery under the direction of the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, Somerset.
