  DOROTHY M. VANDERGRIFT
  
  Dorothy M. Vandergrift, 67, 324 N. Society Road, Canterbury, Conn., passed
  away June 20, 2004, at the home of her son Dan and his wife Bonnie.  She was
  born June 3, 1937, in Somerset, a daughter of the late Earl and Emma
  (Linderman) Bowser and had lived most of her life in Hooversville, until
  March 16, 2002, when she came to Canterbury, Conn.  She was predeceased by a
  brother Cleveland Bowser.  She is the wife of John H. Vandergrift who died in
  April of 1987. Mrs. Vandergrift is survived by her children, John Jr. and
  Karen Vandergrift, Stoystown, Dan and Bonnie Vandergrift, Canterbury,
  Conn.; Valerie and Tom Laney, Hollsopple; stepmother, Marie Bowser,
  Lackawanna, N.Y.; a sister, Shirley Brodeur, Red Lion; two brothers George
  and Freeman Bowser both of Cherry Creek, N.Y., several grandchildren and
  great-grandchildren.  A memorial service will be held at Berkley Church of
  the Brethren, Windber.  She will be buried in POS of A Cemetery in
  Hooversville.  Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home, 595 Norwich Rd., Plainfield,
  Conn., in charge of arrangements.

  be held 11 a.m. Monday at Berkey Church of the Brethren in Windber.
