  VANDERGRIFT
  
  Mildred F. Vandergrift, 78, Somerset State Hospital, formerly of
  Hooversville, died Feb. 3, 1988, at Somerset Community Hospital.  Born
  April 30, 1909, in Thornton, W.Va., daughter of John L. and Botha (Boyles)
  Haddix.  Preceded in death by parents; husband Clarence, who died Sept. 6,
  1959; sons John and James and two infant sons; a brother and two sisters. 
  Survived by these children: Mary Casuccio, Fairmont, W.Va.; Mrs. Louis E.
  (Nellie) Kearns of Wilkinsburg; Mabel of Berlin; Mrs. Lewis (Betty)
  Moldovan, Hooversville; Robert Dave, married to Loretta Kennedy of
  Friedens; Mrs. Clyde (Shirley) Kantner, La Puente, Calif.; Sam, married to
  Mary Grace of Alton Lema, Calif.; 28 grandchildren, 31
  great-grandchildren.  Sister of: Dave of Hillsboro; Eugene of Hooversville;
  Mrs. Vincent (Nina) Patrick of Seward; Lucy of Newport News, Va.; and
  Lloyd.  Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
  Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville, where service will be held at
  11 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Harry W. Bassett.  Interment, P.O.S. of A.
  Cemetery, Hooversville.
