  VANDIVENDER
  
  Vernon R. VanDivender, 80, Masonic Home, Elizabethtown, formerly of Jerome,
  died Dec. 26, 1982, at the home.  Born Nov. 21, 1902, in Jefferson Mine, son
  of Nicholas and Ella (Lobough) VanDivender.  Preceded in death by parents;
  wife, Vivian S. Shumaker, who died Jan. 28, 1978; sister, Emily Jane;
  brother, Earl; and half-brother, Edward McCuone.  Survived by brother,
  Robert I., married to the former Ethel May, Johnstown; also several nieces
  and nephews.  Member of Jerome Lutheran Church, UMWA and Cambria Lodge 278
  F. & A. M.  Retired employee of Ebensburg Coal Co. and U.S. National Bank,
  Johnstown.  Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoffman
  Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell, where services will be held at 11
  a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. George E. Bowersox officiating.  Interment,
  Odd Fellows Cemetery, Salisbury.  Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at
  the funeral home.
