Van Horn, 92, died at Meadville United Methodist Home on Tuesday, April 13, 1982. He was formerly of Beaver, the husband of Berdeen Braymer Van Horn; father of John Foster Van Horn, of Kingston, N.Y.; grandfather of Isabel B. and John E., of Dallas, Tx.; brother of Gene Van Horn and the late Judson T.; Mrs. W. C. Price; Mrs. W. P. Donaldson; Mrs. Walter Edge and, Harold Van Horn. He was a member of the Western Penna. Conference of Methodist Churches (served for 50 years), served as District superintendent of Allegheny Conference from 1940 to 1946, served Methodist Churches as Pastor at Windber, McKeesport, Sheraden, Beaver Falls, Calvary, Ligonier and Beaver. He was a graduate of Allegheny College, graduate of Boston University of Theology, Doctor of Divinity from Mt. Union College, Trustee Emeritus of Allegheny College, a member of St. James Lodge Beaver F. & A.M. No. 457, Chaplain W. W. I 11th Infantry A.E.F. and was awarded the Purple Heart. Services were held in Meadeville at the United Methodist Home last Thursday, at 10 a.m. Further graveside services were held at the Scottdale Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
