SAMUEL T. VAN HORN

  Samuel T. Van Horn, aged 67, died at 7 a.m. last Friday, July 20, in the 
Cumberland (Md.) Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for four months.  
Born Sept. 3, 1878, in Louden, Va., he was the son of Benjamin F. and Elizabeth 
(Underwood) Van Horn.  He came to Meyersdale 21 years ago from Thurmont, Md., 
and was employed for many years by the Western Maryland Railway Company.  He was 
a member of Zion Lutheran Church.  
  Surviving are his wife, Bessie (Lape) Van Horn, and the following children: 
Leroy, Cumberland, Md.; Earl, Elyria, O.; Maurice, Baltimore; Mrs. Bertrum 
Wetmiller, Pittsburgh, and Mrs. W. R. Price, Meyersdale.
  Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Price Funeral Home, with 
Rev. H. K. Hilner officiating.  Interment was made in the Union Cemetery, under 
the direction of W. C. Price & Son.
