VANNEAR Funeral services were conducted Dec. 27, for Lewis Welty Vannear, aged 69, former Somerset and Jennerstown hotel proprietor, who passed away on Christmas Eve, following a long illness. Rev. J. S. Shannon, pastor of the Jennerstown Lutheran Church, officiated. Interment was in the Union Cemetery, at Somerset. Six members of the Jennerstown Volunteer Fire Company, of which Mr. Vannear was a member, served as pallbearers. Mr. Vannear was born in Alliance, Ohio, and went to Somerset when a young man. He was proprietor of the Arlington Hotel at Somerset for a number of years. He removed to Greensburg 21 years ago and later located at Jennerstown and assumed charge of Ye Olde Inn. He relinquished ownership of that hotel a few years ago. Surviving are his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Sue Frank and Mrs. Nettie Duncan, both of Wilkinsburg, and a brother, Fred Vannear, proprietor of the Lincoln Highway restaurant at Jennerstown.
