Van Order, aged 62, died at his home in Berlin, Tuesday, May 16, at 4 a.m. He was born in Carthage, N.Y., and came to Berlin many years ago and built up a prosperous marble and granite business which he carried on until three months ago, when due to ill health, he was forced to retire from active work. Mr. Van Order was married to Grace Dietz, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dietz, who survives him, also two daughters, Mary, wife of Earl E. Austin, Somerset, and Mildred, wife of Victor Holtzopple, Johnstown; and two grandsons and one sister, Mrs. Alice Coughlin, Waketown, N.Y. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Meyersdale, Knights of Malta, Modern Woodmen of America, Jr. O.U.A.M., and the Berlin Lions Club. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at his late home on Cumberland St., by his pastor, Rev. S. M. Whetstone, assisted by Rev. Albert L. Lantz of the Brethren Church of Conemaugh. Interment in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, under the direction of Johnson and Son. Meyersdale Republican, May 18, 1944
