Van Sickle in Uniontown Hospital ADDISON, April 8 - Mrs. Rosa B. Van Sickle, wife of John Van Sickle of Addison, died April 5th, in the Uniontown Hospital, after two weeks severe illness. She was aged 52 years, 9 months and 19 days, having been born in Garrett County, Md., June 16, 1892. She was an adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilkins Lakel. She was an invalid the greater part of her life, having had to use a wheel chair for 31 years. She is survived by her husband and one son, John W. Van Sickle, who is serving in the U.S. Marines, stationed at San Diego, Cal., at present. She was a faithful member of the Methodist Church. Funeral services were conducted in her home on Sunday, April 8, at 2 p.m., by her pastor, Rev. James Bird. There was singing by the Junior Choir which she organized. Interment was in the Addison Cemetery under direction of Mortician Harry B. Rishebarger. The pallbearers were Walter Kirkwood, James S. Hook, Bruce Sellers, Paul Swank, Lloyd Bender and George Wright. There were many beautiful floral tributes. Mrs. Van Sickle was very patient during her illness and had many friends whom she loved to entertain as long as her health permitted. Meyersdale Republican, April 12, 1945
