  JOSEPH J. VARCHETTI
  
    Joseph J. Varchetti, 61, Vine Street, Berlin, died Jan. 27, 1980,
  at Somerset State Hospital.
    He was born May 2, 1918, in MacDonaldton, and he was a son of the
  late Samuel and Susan (Rose) Varchetti.  He was precededed [sic]
  in death by his parents and one sister.  He is survived by his wife,
  the former Rose Pontillo; and these children: Larry , U.S. Army; Mrs.
  Francis (Susan) Fochtman, Greensburg; Mrs. Rosalie Popovich, Berlin
  RD 4; Samuel L., Berlin RD 3; also five grandchildren.  He was a
  brother of: Mrs. James (Alice) McCune, Acme; Theodore, Berlin RD 3;
  Samuel, St. Louis; and Mrs. Hays (Mary) Campbell, Donegal.  He was a
  member of St. Gregory's Church, MacDonaldton, and Robert Walker Post
  4333 VFW, Berlin.  He was a WW II Army veteran and was employed by
  PennDOT for the past 10 years.
    Friends were at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin.  Mass of
  Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Gregory's Church.  The
  Rev. Samuel J. Tomaselli officiating.  Interment, Somerset County
  Memorial Park.
