  Frances G. (Sladek) Varney, 75, Jennerstown, died Jan. 18, 1999, at
  Somerset Hospital.  Born May 4, 1923, in Boswell, daughter of Alex
  and Rosa (Bido) Sladek.  Preceded in death by parents; husband,
  Andrew D. Jr., on May 28, 1994, and brother, William.  Survived by
  these children: William F., married to the former Rita Krause,
  Fredericksburg, Va.; RoseAnn M. Allen, Clute, Texas; and Andrew D.,
  married to the former Sandra  Weible, Ligonier; grandchildren:
  Michelle, Melissa , Heather, Scott and Emily; great-grandchildren:
  Christian, John David and Austin; brother, Robert F. Huntingtown,
  Md.; sister, Mary Haier, Toms River, N.J.; and sister-in-law, Betty
  Ann (Varney), married to B. J. Maurer, Boswell. Member of the former
  St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Boswell, and All Saints Catholic
  Parish.  Former cook for North Star Elementary School, Jennerstown
  campus, for many years.  Devoted wife and mother and avid gardener. 
  Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral
  Home, Main Street, Boswell, where vigil for the deceased will be held
  at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.  Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday at All
  Saints Church, Boswell, with the Rev. Father Martin Breski O.F.M.
  Conv. celebrant.  Committal, St. Stanislaus Cemetery.  Memorial
  contributions may be made to "In Touch" Hospice, 651 South Center
  Ave., Somerset. PA. 15501.
