Jo Ann Vent, 59, Grantsville, Md., passed away Oct. 6, 2007, after a long, hard 
fight with Mesothelioma. Born July 12, 1948, in Somerset, a daughter of Joseph 
and Martha (Beggs) Holt, Confluence. Survived by her parents; husband of 32 
years, Tom Vent; daughter, Jamie Jo Vent and fiancee, Eric Atala, 
Alexandria, Va., and stepson, Chad Vent, Ocean City, Md. Also surviving are her 
lifelong friends and honorary pallbearers, Sally Davidson, Ann Frantz, Rose Ann 
Riley, Jacquie Willliams and Charlotte Speicher. Jo Ann was a retired Career 
Technology Supervisor with Garrett County, Md. Schools. A graduate of Turkeyfoot 
Valley Area High School class of 1966 and held B.S. and M.S. degrees from West 
Virginia University. She was a faithful daughter, wonderful mother and loving 
wife. A lifelong educator, she was a true friend to all who knew her. Friends 
will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Humbert Funeral Home, 
Confluence, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Mike 
Friend officiating. Interment in Addison Cemetery. Family suggested memorial 
contributions to the Jo Ann Vent Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 536, Grantsville, 
Md. 21536.
