Vent, 76, of Bedford, died Thursday, July 26, 1990, at Memorial Hospital of Bedford County. Born Feb. 12, 1914, in Ford City, he was the son of the late Charles and Kathryn (Krings) Vent. His wife, Elizabeth (Seifert) Vent, died June 24, 1981. He retired in 1970 after 37 years with the Pennsylvania State Police as a trooper and special investigator. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of Police, a charter member of Elks Lodge 1707, and a past member of the Knights of Columbus. Surviving are four sons: Thomas E. Vent, Grantsville, MD; Joseph F. Vent, Glenwood, MD; Michael W. Vent, Hinckley, Ohio; and Daniel D. Vent, Bedford; two brothers: Henry Vent and Frank Vent, both of Ford City; two sisters: Elizabeth Badura and Josephine Davis, both of Ford City; and 12 grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Thomas Catholic Church Monday at 10 a.m., with Father John C. Vago officiating. Interment, parish cemetery. Friends were received at the Timothy A.
