"Kay" (Phillips) Venzon, 84, Coleman Apartments, 645 E. Main St., Somerset, formerly of Jennerstown, died August 14, 1996, at home. Born Feb. 10, 1912, in Jerome. Daughter of James J. and Catherine (Stone) Phillips. Preceded in death by parents; husband National League baseball umpire Anthony "Tony" Venzon, on Sept. 20, 1971, and infant brother and brothers Stanley J. and Douglas J. Survived by son. Laurence "Bud" Marcus-Venzon, Las Vegas, Nev.; sister, Lillian Engstrom, Concord, Calif., and her five loving, care-giving buddies: Lucy Miconi, Agatha Miconi, Barbara Charlton, Lois Charlton and Judy Manges. Also survived by sister-in-law. Gensina (Venzon) Negast, Windber. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish and Pittsburgh Pinch Hitters. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and until noon Saturday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where a wake service will he held at 3:30 p.m. Friday. Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church, Boswell, the Rev. Father Blase Wegierski O.F.M. Conv., celebrant. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
