Vigna, 84, Meyersdale Manor, formerly of Luzerne Street, Johnstown, died June 11, 1989, at Meyersdale Community Hospital. She was born November 17, 1904, in Meyersdale, daughter of Angelo and Concetta (Piro) Guzzi. She was preceded in death by parents: husband, Leo, who died in 1962; daughter, Nancy Johncola; brothers: John, Frank and Louis; and sisters: Josephine Muto and Caroline Filia. She is survived by children: Margaret, married to Allen Whatmore, Luzerne Street, with whom she formerly resided; Patrick, married to former Helen Penna; and Louis, married to former Clara Magro, all of Johnstown; also 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was a member of District 368, GBU; Catholic Daughters of the Americas; Sons of Italy; and Altar-Rosary Society of Our Mother of Sorrows. Former owner and operator of Hilltop Tavern, Prospect; member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, where Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 9 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Msgr. Linford Greinader officiating. Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. was in charge of arrangements. Interment, Grandview Cemetery. The Republic, June 15, 1989 [V0097]
