Preceded in death by her mother, Jennie Brougher Heil, her father, Harry W. Heil and her son, Capt. Philip A. Volentine, U.S. Army. Survived by her husband, Rudy P. Volentine of Shreveport; two daughters: Joan V. Kelly of Dallas, Texas and Phoebe V. Thompson of Clinton, La.; one brother, Leycester T. Heil of Kingwood; grandchildren: Susan V. Tamburello of New York; Phylis V. V. McComb of Columbus, Ga.; Michael and Lisa Kelly of Dallas; and Worth and Elaine Thompson of Clinton, La.; one great-granddaughter, Nicole Tamburello. She was a resident of Shreveport for the past 43 years, a retired secretary from District Court, a member of Summer Grove United Methodist Church and she had a life commission as a Notary Public. She was a past matron of Queensborough O.E.S. #187, past Queen of Daughters of the Nile, a member of Schumpert Hospital Guild and a member of the A.A.R.P. She was active and held offices in many church and fraternal auxiliary organizations. Services were held Aug. 22 at Summer Grove United Methodist Church, with interment at Forest Park West, under the direction of Rose-Neath's Southside Funeral Home.
