Volk, Carl

  Justus Volk, proprietor of the Merchants' Hotel, Boswell, has received word to 
the effect that his nephew, Carl Volk, was killed near Warsaw, Russia Dec. 31, 
while engaged in actual service under Gen. Von Hindenburg. Deceased, who was an 
officer in the German army, was aged 24 years and had been in the service for 
five years during which time he received his first medal for sharpshooting. A 
younger brother aged 20 years is also actively engaged in the war. Deceased was 
a resident of Kichen, Germany.
