She was born May 10, 1908 in Ohiopyle, daughter of late George and Lucy (Hall) Kurtz. She was a veteran and served with distinction in World War II as a first lieutenant in the United States Army Nursing Corps with General George Patton's Third Army in Europe. She was a Registered Nurse and worked in that career following the war until retirement. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Clarence T. Voss and two brothers, Dave and Harry Kurtz. She is survived by six sisters: Mrs. Verna Van Sickel, Mrs. Joe McLean, Mrs. John Hughes and Miss Mary Lane Kurtz, all of Confluence; Mrs. Lucille Shunk of Turtlecreek; and Mrs. Jean Wilson of Lynchburg, Va. A funeral service with the Rev. McCurtis Allison officiating was held April 22 at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence. Interment, Addison Cemetery.
