Vought, 74, Alpharetta, Ga., formerly of Berlin, died Feb. 26, 2004, at Ashton Woods Nursing Home, Atlanta, Ga. Born Jan. 29, 1930, in Allegheny Township, the son of Merle G. and Bertha (Sweitzer) Vought. Preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rosetta Carlous. Survived by his wife of 38 years, the former Betty Davis; stepdaughters, Marcia, married to Robert Brunnenmeyer, Alpharetta, Ga., and Patricia Seamans, Suwanee, Ga.; stepgrandson, John Keith Pelt, New York City, N.Y.; sisters, Shirley, married to John Tataleba and Joyce, married to Richard Hay, both of Berlin; and a brother, Barry Vought, Berlin. Member of the former St. Luke's Reformed Church, Berlin. He was a retired nurses aid for the former Somerset State Hospital and prior to this he was a Forest Ranger in Florida. He was an active Boy Scout leader, and attended Berlin Brothersvalley High School. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Ralph G. Landis officiating.
