VOUGHT Despondent because of ill health, Harry B. Vought, 56, of Broadway, Rockwood, took his own life Saturday, by hanging himself to a bedpost. Mr. Vought had been depressed and melancholy and his family had been watching him closely. About 9:30 a.m., last Saturday, his wife talked with him and then went on about her morning duties, returning in a half hour to find he had strangled himself with a belt. Besides his wife, the former Grace Hostetler, he is survived by these children: Blaine Vought of Garrett; Clayton Vought of Somerset; Gloria Jean, Geneva, Shirley, Delores, Harry, Jr., and Freeman Vought at home, and three grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers and three sisters - Charles Vought of Rockwood; W. W. Vought of Rockwood R.D.; John, Milton and Clyde Vought of Somerset; Mrs. Mary Frazee of Point Marion; Miss Mary and Miss Carrie Vought of Rockwood. Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon at 2:30 with Rev. Hillis Berkey officiating. Burial was made in the Rockwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, May 13, 1948
