Born Aug. 24, 1940, in Meyersdale, son of Samuel Elmer and Carolyn Ida (Bowman) Vought. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by wife, the former Winifred Louise "Winnie" Beachy, to whom he was married 40 years; children: Patricia Ann, wife of Kenneth W. Marrero of Hershey; Douglas W. Vought, married to the former Wendy Plume of Somerset; and David R. Vought of Friedens; 5 grandchildren: Katie and Eric Marrero; Hannah, Sarah and Samuel Vought; stepmother, Sarah Louise Vought of Grantsville, Md.; also sister, Mrs. Raymond (Linda "Kay") Yommer of Salisbury and half-brother, John L. Vought of Grantsville. Member of Brothersvalley Church of the Brethren, Brotherton. A 1958 graduate of Salisbury-Elk Lick High School. A 1960 graduate of Greensburg Institute of Technology and Drafting. Resident construction manager for EADS Group since March 2, 1965. Avid outdoorsman. Member of Mountain Field and Stream Club; past member of Shanksville-Stonycreek School Board; Little League and Junior American Legion baseball manager. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Owen H. Preston officiating.
