Vought, 68, Route 1, Grantsville, Md., died Aug. 7, 1987, at Lee Hospital, Johnstown. Born in Boynton, April 15, 1919, son of the late Elmer and Carrie (Engle). He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn (Bowman). Survived by his wife, Sarah Louise (Lewis); three sons: Robert W., Berlin; Paul Riley Jr., Meyersdale; John L., Grantsville; four daughters: Linda Kaye Yommer, Boynton; Anna Vogel, Berlin; Linda Bowers, Sterling, Va.; Darlene Steyer, Deer Park, Md.; one brother, Paul E., Meyersdale; one sister, Pauline Lichty, Salisbury; and nine grandchildren. He was a member of Cherry Grove Church of the Brethren and was a retired compressor station engineer with Columbia Gas Transmission Corp. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Saturday 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Service will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Stephen Durr officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gift to Cherry Grove Building Fund. Pallbearers will be co-workers from Columbia Gas Transmission.
