Vought, aged 74, retired farmer of Elk Lick Township, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Emma Fike, Route 1, Meyersdale, at 4:40 p.m. on Monday, September 15 of diabetes mellitis. Mr. Vought retired about 23 years ago, and was in ill health the last few years. He was born in Elk Lick Township on July 28, 1873, son of John L. and Belinda (Brisky) Vought. His wife, Mrs. Alice (Engle) Vought preceded him in death in 1923. He is survived by two sons, Roy C. Vought of Salisbury, Route 1, and Lloyd C. Vought of Baltimore, and by one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by two brothers, Elmer Vought of Boynton and Norman Vought of San Francisco, Calif., two sisters, Mrs. Milton A. Fike, and Mrs. Harvey Arnold, both of Meyersdale; 6 half-brothers, Homer of Minneapolis, Minn.; Charles of Terra Alta, W.Va.; Aaron of Paw Paw, Mich.; Emmert of Huntington, Ind., Harley of Urbana, Ind., and Ray of Meyersdale, and by two half-sisters, Mrs. Icy Albin, Ottumwa, Ia., and Mrs. Hoffebitz, Greencastle. Services will be held Thursday (today) at 2:30 p.m. at Meyersdale Church of the Brethren, Rev. S. Loren Bowman. Friends will be received at the Fike home until time of service.
