Mrs. Lydia J. Weigle, 86, of Listie, died Sept. 26, at home. She was born May 13,
1878, in Shade township, a daughter of Gabriel and Uriah Huckenberry Spangler. She
is survived by eight children: Lester and Cloyd, both of Listie; Mrs. Ned Weimer and
Eugene, both of Somerset; Mrs. Everett Rummel, Cleveland, Ohio; Dayton, of Friedens;
Ray of Somerset and Mrs. Harry Bowman in Alaska; 44 grandchildren, 66
great-grandchildren, 16 great great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. John Sheeler of
Lewistown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, in 1940, also two
daughters, one son, three brothers and three sisters. She was a member of the Listie
Brethren Church. Friends are being received at Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, until
2 noon Tuesday, when the remains will be removed to the Listie Brethren Church to
lie in state until 2 pm, the time of the service, at which the Rev. Max DeArmey will
officiate. Interment will be in Berlin IOOF Cemetery.
