Funeral services were held June 18 in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Robert Jones officiating. Burial was in the Prospect Hill Cemetery. Born Nov. 7, 1905, Mrs. Wagner was the daughter of the Rev. Chauncey R. Botsford, DD, and Jane B. Botsford. She was the widow of Parke R. Wagner. A 1928 graduate of Susquehanna University with a bachelor of arts and a bachelor of oratory degree, she taught at Somerset High School and Warren County High School. During her tenure at Warren County, she chaired the English department and was adviser to the Forensics Club, which won numerous first place state honors. As an active member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, she was a Sunday School teacher and church leader. She was first president of the Lutheran Church Women and served several other terms as president of the organization. She was a member and past president of the Willing Workers Circle Kings Daughters. A member of the Gently Farm Prayer Group, she belonged to the Retired Teachers Association and the American Association of Retired Persons. Mrs. Wagner volunteered her time at Samuels Library, the Senior Citizens Center and the 200 Club where she told and read stories. Surviving are sons Parke Wagner Jr. of Lakeland. Fla.; James C. Wagner of Biloxi, Miss.; and Robert C. Wagner of McKeesport; six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Daily American, August 20, 1986 [W0032]
