He was born Sept. 30, 1867, in Grantsville, Md. He and his wife, the former Lucy Cook of Meyersdale, celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary July 5, 1949. They were married in Meyersdale in 1891 and lived here many years before moving to Chicago. He was a retired plasterer and was an active member of the Woodlawn Lutheran Church, Chicago, for 25 years. Besides his wife he leaves three sons, George, Warren and Glenn, a daughter, Elizabeth, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are two cousins, Mrs. Nettie Leckemby and Mrs. Emma Dill of Meyersdale. Funeral services were held in Woodlawn Lutheran Church Tuesday morning followed by interment in Fairmont Cemetery. Among those attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Crissinger, Mrs. Lewis Mazer and Mrs. Joe Higgins of Sand Patch, Pa., Charles Cook and Miss Ursila Cook, Pittsburgh; George Wagner and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bettis, Arlington, Va., Mr. and Mrs. B. Hare and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Hare of Akron, O. Meyersdale Republican, August 25, 1949
