Born Jan. 4, 1939 in Salisbury, he was a son of the late Albert and Erma (Bockes) Wagner. Also preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle and four brothers, James, Robert, Harry and Jack. Surviving are his wife, Louise (Kister) Wagner, a son, Christopher, Martinsville, Ind.; two daughters, Tina Fuller, Rock Hill, S.C., Sarah Wagner, Salisbury, a sister, Phyllis Bender, Grantsville, Md., and a granddaughter, Jessica Fuller. Member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Salisbury, Meyersdale Lodge 554 F. & A.M.; Salisbury American Legion and Salisbury-Elk Lick Hunting Club. Former employee of CSC Railroad and U.S. Army veteran. He was a graduate of the State Police Academy, Greensburg, and served as Chief of Police in Salisbury for 3 1/2 years and was a retired deputy sheriff with the Somerset County Sheriff's, Department. Also was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a retired Deputy Waterways Conservation Officer with the Pa. Fish and Boat Commission having, served for 23 years. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Newman Funeral Homes, PA, Grantsville, Md. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in St. John's Lutheran Church, Rev. David Fetter officiating. Interment will be in Salisbury Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be accorded. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Meyersdale Lodge 554, F. & A.M. will hold a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
