Wagner, 69, Meyersdale, died Nov. 17, 1988, at Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born Feb. 23, 1919, in Salisbury, son of the late Albert and Erma (Bockes) Wagner. Also preceded in death by brothers George, Jack and James. Survived by his wife, the former Ellen Brown; son, William E. Wagner, Meyersdale; daughter, Mrs. Jane E. Swartzwelder, Salisbury; brother, Franklin D. Wagner, Salisbury; sister, Mrs. Phyllis Bender, Grantsville, Md.; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was a retired trackman for Western Maryland Railroad. Member of Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church and Salisbury American Legion Post 456. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Friends received 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Friday at Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury, where funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. J. Ward Tressler officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery.
