Wahl, 69, of Michigan City, Ind., died Wednesday, July 8, 1998, at his home. Born Jan. 20, 1929, in Meyersdale, he was a son of the late Walter and Olive (Geiger) Wahl. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, James Wahl, in 1996. Mr. Wahl is survived by his wife, the former Mary M. Lepley, whom he married Jan. 9, 1950, in Cumberland, Md. He is also survived by these sons: John and wife, Luann, LaPorte, Ind.; Rodney, Bridgman, Mich.; and Grant and wife, Mary Ann, Michigan City, Ind; daughters: Rhonda (Mrs. Terry) Henderson, Michigan City, Ind.; Valerie (Mrs. David) Mokrycki, St. Charles, Ill.; and Doreen Hammill, Raleigh, N.C. Additionally, Mr. Wahl is survived by these brothers: Walter and wife, Mary, Frederick, Md.; Myrel and wife Rita, Meyersdale; and Calvin and wife, Barbara, Texas. He is survived by, sisters: Donna Kean Kichner, Thomas, Pa.; Clara Bittner and husband, Ike, Meyersdale; and Marie Klink, also of Meyersdale. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren. Mr. Wahl retired as a maintenance foreman from Bethlehem Steel. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict as a chief petty officer on the U.S.S. Samuel B. Roberts. He was a member of the Shriner's through the Orak Shrine; was a lay minister at Hillcrest United Methodist Church; was a member of the Masonic Lodge; and enjoyed motorcycles and his family. Memorial services were held July 10 by the Masonic Lodge at the Hillcrest United Methodist Church. Rev. Larry Trueblood officiated. Interment, Swan Lake Memorial Gardens.
