She was a daughter of the late Douglas and Anna (Folk) Engle, and was born in Elk Lick Township on April 1, 1875. She was aged 72 years, 6 months and 8 days at the time of her death. On June 30, 1896, she was married to Martin Wahl of Meyersdale by Rev. E. S. Hassler in the Reformed Church parsonage at St. Paul, Elk Lick Twp. They resided in Meyersdale for about two years and then moved to their present home. They were happily married over 51 years and celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on June 30, 1946. She was the mother of 10 children, all surviving - namely, Guy of Johnstown, Walter of Boynton, Hubert and Clyde of Meyersdale, Earl of Rockwood, Ralph of Somerset, R.D., Leona, wife of Charles Flowers, Garrett; Alma, wife of Lester Snyder, Kent, O.; Mary June, wife of James Harrison, Westernport, Md.; and Ethel, wife of William McCleary, at home. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers - Lester F. Engle of Salisbury R.D. and R. E. Engle of Berlin - and by two sisters - Mrs. Elmer Vought and Mrs. Emma Menhorn of Boynton. Three brothers and three sisters, also one grandchild preceded her in death. Funeral services were conducted in Amity Evangelical and Reformed Church at 2:30 Mon. afternoon by her pastor, Rev. Nelson C. Brown. Interment was made in Union Cemetery under the direction of W. C. Price & Son. She was a devout Christian woman, a kind and loving wife and mother and a faithful and lifelong member of Amity Reformed Church, where she was regular in attendance when physically able. She will be greatly missed by her many friends. Meyersdale Republican, October 16, 1947
