Wakefield, 82, of Richmond, Va., died April 27, 1982 in his residence. He was born in Friendsville, and was a son of the late David and Mary Alice (Teets) Wakefield. He was a retired railroad employee and had been in the active ministry for 60 years until a year ago when he became ill. He was a former pastor of the United Pentecostal Church, Homer Street. While there, a church building was erected in 1957. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Helen Pulling, with whom he resided; four sons, Carl Wakefield, Paul Wakefield and Ernest Wakefield and Albert Wakefield, all of Richmond, Va.; three sisters, Mrs. M. L. Shank, Cumberland; Mrs. Grace Mitchell and Miss Evelyn Wakefield, both of Confluence. Services were conducted in Woody Funeral Home, Richmond. Interment was in the West Hampton Memorial Park.
