He was a son of Mrs. Myrtle Walburn Messersmith and lived at Jennings, Md., before moving to Marathon, N.Y. He is survived by his wife and young daughter and son, his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. David Messersmith, of Marathon, N.Y., one brother and a half-brother and sister. Mrs. Ed Buckle and Mrs. Herbert Buckle, of Bittinger, Md., aunts of Mr. Walburn, went to Marathon, N.Y., to his funeral and to comfort the bereaved family. Meyersdale Republican, August 10, 1944
