Born July 4, 1919, in Bellebridge, son of Fred C. and Elizabeth (Sandmeyer) Waldbaum. Preceded in death by parentsl wife, the former Hazel Koontz who died in Feb. 16, 1992; brothers, Arthur, William, George, Charles and Roland Waldbaum and sisters, Esther Hoak, Helen Niedzwecki, Bertha Pope and Mildred Ammon. Survived by children, Mrs. Elloise Faychak, Fredericksburg, Va., and Elmer H. Waldbaum Jr., Findleyville; three grandchildren and three great- grand-children; numerous nieces and nephews, including Mrs. Randy (Susan) Leer, Somerset. A 1938 graduate of McKeesport High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Also was a self-employed civil engineer and surveyor working for Kimball Associates, Ebensburg, until his retirement. No viewing or visitation. Services will be conducted as a part of the normal worship service at 9 a.m., April 9, at St. Francis-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church, Somerset, with the Rev. Father J. Mark Zimmerman officiating. Interment, Green Oak Cemetery. Contributions can be made to St. Francis-in-the- Fields Episcopal Church, Husband Road, Somerset, PA 15501. Arrangements by the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset.
