WALKER,  Betty E.

Betty E. Walker, 82, formerly of Somerset, died Aug. 2, 2007, in Greensburg. 
Born Dec. 20, 1924, in Downey, Bedford County, she is the daughter of the late 
Chester B. and Grace (Mowry) Egolf. Also preceded in death by her husband, Guy 
E. Walker, who died Aug. 11, 1992. Survived by children, Elizabeth Walker of 
Philadelphia, Mary Beutel and husband John of Fredericktown, Ohio, Chester Egolf 
Walker and wife Linda of Fayetteville and Lucy Clippinger and husband Scott of 
Jeannette. Grandchildren, Michelle Beutel, Marshall, Mich., Keith Beutel and 
Michael Beutel, Snellville, Ga., Brian Walker and wife Karen of New Cumberland, 
Erin Clippinger and Cory Clippinger of Jeannette and great-granddaughter, 
Melissa Arnold, Marshall, Mich. A longtime resident of Somerset and Deep Creek 
Lake, Md., she was a 1942 graduate of Somerset High School and earned an A.B. 
degree at Hood College, Frederick, Md., in 1946. Worked at various times for 
Somerset AAA, the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare and with her husband 
at Somerset Thrift Consumer Discount Co., and on the administrative staff of the 
Daily American. Member and Past Worthy Matron of Trinity Chapter 138 OES and of 
the Calvary United Methodist Church. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 
p.m. Saturday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where a service will be 
held at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Raymond Lyon officiating. Private interment in 
Husband Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Restless Legs Syndrome 
Foundation, 819 Second St., SW Rochester, MN 55902-6465.
