Born May 18, 1921, in Milford Township. Son of the late Archibald Franklin and Bertha Rebecca (Barkley) Walker. Also preceded in death by sister, Mary Sweitzer, and two brothers, Clark and Robert Walker. Survived by wife, the former Ruth Marie Miller, to whom he was married for 50 years, and these children: Mrs. William S. (Judy) Vilcheck, Washington, Pa., and Thomas B. Walker, married to the former Linda Weigie, Somerset RD 1; grandchildren: Michael and Ann Vilcheck, Melanie, Jill and Amy Walker, Lindsey Snyder. Brother of Mrs. Ruth Hillegas and Mrs. Helen E. Custer, both of Somerset. Retired Milford Township dairy farmer, 1938 graduate of Somerset High School. Member of Samuel's Lutheran Church, secretary-treasurer of Samuel's Cemetery, director of Somerset Rural Electric Cooperative for 18 years, past member of Rockwood School Board, having served for 18 years. Past member of Pennsylvania Farmers Association. Member of former IOOF Lodge of Somerset. Life member of New Centerville and Rural Volunteer Fire Company. Friends received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. John J. Palko officiating.
