He is survived by his wife Avonelle, formerly of Burgettstown, Pa.; a son David Jr.; and brothers Henry J. of Fort Salonga, N.Y. and Donald A. of New Paltz, N.Y. He was the son of the late Henry and Bertha (Statler) Walker, formerly of Somerset. A noted teacher, church musician and composer. A professor of music of the City University at Queens, he served for 34 years as organist, harpsichordist, choral director and master teacher in many of the disciplines of music. For 36 years he served numerous Lutheran and Episcopal congregations in Queens and Long Island. He published many original works and arranged sacred works for choirs of all ages. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 10, 1994, in Christ Casebeer Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pastor Dwight A. Huseman officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery under the direction of the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home.
