Born July 21, 1914 in New Bethlehem. Son of Thomas and Violet (Chapman) Walker. Preceded in death by parents, infant brother Thomas and sister Mary. Survived by his wife of 52 years, the former Hilda Wincer and these children: Mrs. Donald (Sally Ann) Walker of Carlisle; Mrs. John (Esther) Helsel, of Boiling Springs; Edward J. married to the former Jean Hancock, of Johnstown; Mrs. Eugene (Virginia) Lloyd, of Somerset; Thomas J. married to the former Ann Weaver, of Bethel; Mrs. Louis (Linda) Bourdette of Lemoyne; Mrs. Leroy (Martha) Helsel, of Altoona; Mrs. Steven (Kathryn) Corden, of Hooversville; Mrs. Millan (Alice) Huzsek, of Stoystown RD 2; Mrs. William (Karen) Read, of Sidell, La.; Mrs. Barry (Mary) Lockard, of Wormslyburg; 27 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, brother of: William, of Sunnyvale Calif.; Kathryn, of Myerstown; John, of Beechcreek; Alice Young, Southampton; Bob of Marlton, N. J.; and Mae Harmon, of Mesa, Ariz. A retired coal miner, member of Hooversville Christian Church, a lifetime member and former chief of the Hooversville Fire Company and a member of the UMWA. Family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home HOOVERSVILLE. Service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Hooversville Christian Church, Homer Tantlinger officiating. Interment POS of A Cemetery Hooversville.
