Walker, 96, Sipesville, died June 2, 1996, in Somerset Hospital. Born Sept. 3, 1899, in Somerset County, son of the late Harry W. and Agnes (Ankeny) Walker. Preceded in death by wife, Emma (Friedline) Walker; brothers, Amos, Russell and Clarence; son-in-law, Reid Miller, and grandson, Timothy Walker. Survived by these children: Lois, wife of Wallace Duyer, Mission, Texas; Charles E., married to the former Marion (Rote), McConnellsburg; Ruth W., wife of William Stewart, Philadelphia; A.J., married to the former Shirley (Miller), Somerset RD 2; Romaine Miller, Murrysville; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Life-long member of Christ Casebeer Evangelical Lutheran Church. Retired potato grower, dairy and beef farmer; a maple syrup producer, and also operated an apple orchard. Life-long member of Pa. Potato Growers Association. Responsible for founding of the Walker's Farm Service. His father, H.W. Walker was the founder of H. W. Walker Ice Cream and Dairy Company. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Casebeer Church, Pastor Dwight A. Huseman officiating.
