Walker, 79, of Gray, died March 22, 1981, at Somerset Community, Hospital. He was born Oct. 29, 1901, in Salisbury, son of John J. sand Lucy A. (Tressler) Walker. He was preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Erma M. Volk, who died Feb. 15, 1977; two infant daughters; a grandson; and a granddaughter; brothers, James, and Thomas; and sister, Mrs. Gladys Lape. He is survived by these children: David, married to the former Bertha Cox; Hope, wife of August Supanick; and Carroll, wife of Earl Young Jr., all of Pittsburgh; Paul, married to the former Virginia Stufft, of Milton; Allan, married to the former Christina Hamilton, North Versailles; and Kathleen, wife of Frank Supanick, Gray; also 22 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren; a brother of Mrs. Jennie Clemons, Hammond, Ind.; Ruth, wife of John Martin, Hagerstown, Md.; and Mrs. Velma Sharkey, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Boswell; and Somerset VFW Post 554; a Navy veteran of World War II; a retired employee of Pittsburgh-Consolidation Coal Co., he was maintenance foreman of Jenners, Gray and Acosta mines. Friends were received at Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell, where services were held with the Rev. W. James Legge, officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
