Born Jan. 10, 1905, in Brothersvalley Township, son of the late Harvey John and Sarah "Sadie" Ida (Boose) Walker. Also preceded in death by a sister, May Louise Mayday. Survived by wife, the former Helen M. Cage; stepdaughter, Mrs. Robert W. (Audrey) Lang Critchfield, Latrobe; and step-granddaughter, Helen M. Critchfield. Graduate of Berlin-Brothersvalley High School and the Pennsylvania State University. Retired inspector for the Pa. Department of Environmental Resources. Member of St. Michael's (Pine Hill) Lutheran Church, 58-year member of the Hillcrest Grange 1674, and had received the Golden Sheaf Award in 1968 from the National Grange. Member of Berlin Lodge 461 I.O.O.F. and the Cambria-Somerset Chapter of the Pa. Association of Retired State Employees. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Graveside service and interment will be held in the Somerset County Memorial Park at 10 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Byron K. Myers officiating.
