WALKER, James P. "Phil"

James P. "Phil" Walker, 79, Somerset, died June 22, 2007, in Somerset. Born Nov. 
7, 1927, in Somerset, he is the son of the late Peter H. and Sadie (Foust) 
Walker. Also preceded in death by brothers, Burdette, Roy, Robert and Harold; 
sisters, Gertrude Lafferty, Elna Frease and Anna Belle Custer. Survived by wife, 
the former Martha Ellen Jacobs; daughter, Mrs. Wade (Marcia) Walker, Somerset; 
grandchildren, Clay and Drew Walker and a brother, Fred Walker, Somerset. Member 
of Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church; the 55 and Over Speeders and the Coin Club 
and was an avid sports card collector. A 1947 graduate of Somerset High School 
and retired in 1990 from Bender Shoe Co. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 
p.m. Sunday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until 11 
a.m. Monday, the time of service, in the Casebeer Lutheran Church. The Rev. 
Dennis Doebler officiating. Interment Casebeer Cemetery. Contributions may be 
made to Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church, 10277 Somerset Pike, Somerset PA 15501 
or "In Touch" Hospice, 223 South Pleasant Ave., Suite 103, Somerset, PA 15501.
