The direct cause of death was neuritis of the nerves, followed by a paralytic stroke. Jesse B. Walker was born at Walker's Mill, near Harnedsville, a son of the late John and Susannah Walker, and was the last surviving member of the family. He was employed when young by the Pennsylvania Railroad Company as a brakeman, and while employed in that service suffered the loss of an arm at Everson. Following this mishap he was employed as a watchman for various construction firms, including the American Bridge Co., and the Vang Construction Co. He was married on September 23rd, 1915, to Mrs. Allie Baugh of Markleysburg, who survives him. No children were born to them. Mr. Walker underwent an operation December 23rd, last, for enlarged glands, after which he was able to get around the house, although not completely recovered, until last June, when he took to his bed and remained there until his death. He was for a number of years a member of the Confluence Christian Church. Funeral services were held at the family home on Oden Street at 1:30 p.m., Friday, October 28th, Rev. Leslie Magargee of the Flatwoods Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. George O. Ritter, of the Confluence Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment in Addison Cemetery.
