He underwent an appendicitis operation there last Thursday. Mr. Walker had been working as a coal miner at Confluence. He is survived by his wife and several children. He also leaves his father, George B. Walker. His mother preceded him to the grave. The body was turned over to Undertaker W. C. Price, of Meyersdale to prepare for burial. Meyersdale Republican, February 20, 1930 --- JOHN ANDREW WALKER John Andrew Walker, son of Mr. and Mrs. George P. Walker of Coal Run, aged 33 years, 11 months and 26 days, died Feb. 18, 1930. His death followed a surgical operation which had been performed to relieve him of appendicitis, in the Frantz Hospital, Confluence, Feb. 13th. He is survived by his wife and three children, Betty, William and Charles, also by his parents, three sisters and two brothers, namely: Mrs. M. P. Bowman, Mrs. John May, Mrs. Frank Holler and George and James Walker. One son, Emerson, preceded him to the grave. John Andrew Walker was a kind and loving son, brother, husband and father, and was ever ready to do a kindness or lend a helping hand to any fellow mortal. Owing to his kind and friendly disposition, he had many warm and loyal friends who greatly deplore his death. He had been employed at Fort Hill just prior to his death. His mother, wife and two brothers were at his bedside when he died, and to his mother he gave the assurance that he was ready and prepared to die. His body was turned over to Funeral Director W. C. Price of Meyersdale, who after preparing it for burial took it to his late home at Coal Run, where the funeral was held in the M.E. Church at 10 a.m., Feb. 22nd. It was one of the most largely attended funerals ever held in Coal Run. Interment was made in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, at Salisbury.
