"Katie" (Lowry) Walker, 89, Frederick, formerly of Shanksville, died Dec. 24, 2006 at Frederick Mennonite Community Center. Born June 18, 1917 in Shanksville, daughter of William and Winnie (Spangler) Lowry. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Lewis R., daughter Cynthia Kay Walker; brothers, William Roland, Frank, Carl and Ray Lowry; and sister, Ethel Reese. Survived by brothers, Ted (Naomi) Lowry, Davidsville, Don (Lois) Lowry, Mechanicsburg, and Ken (Maryanne) Lowry, Fletcher, N.C.; stepdaughter, Linda (John) Fox, Shanksville, and special niece, Carolyn Reese, Allentown. A graduate of Shanksville-Stonycreek High School and a retired secretary for many years from the Shanksville Stonycreek School District. Member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Shanksville, where she was an organist for over 50 years. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 10 a.m. until time of service, 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mark Lutheran Church, the Rev. Robert J. Way officiating. Interment at Walker Cemetery, Shanksville.
