Walker, 83, of Patriot Manor, Somerset, died Dec. 3, 1993, in Somerset Hospital. He was born on Aug. 18, 1910 in Summit Township, a son of the late Frank and Minnie (Fritz) Walker. He was also preceded in death by wife, Edna I. (Feaster) Walker on Sept. 25, 1993; brothers: Clarence and Hiram; and a sister Gertrude (Walker) Enos. He is survived by a brother, Paul of Dearborn. Mich., and a number of nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Meyersdale Zion Lutheran Church, served as Somerset County Sheriff from 1955 to 1975; past president of the Pennsylvania Sheriffs Association; member and past chief of the Meyersdale Fire Department; served as president and secretary of Somerset County Fair Association from 1948 to 1956 and was an honorary member of the fair board. Mr. Walker attended the Walker School in Summit Township. He formerly owned and operated Walker Milk Transport and Walker's Dry Cleaners. He was a member of the Meyersdale Elks Lodge. His hobby was riding his horse to lead parades in Somerset County. Friends were received Sunday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, Somerset, where services were conducted Monday, Pastor Randall J. Marburger officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
