Walker, 87, of Somerset, formerly of Friedens RD 2, died Dec. 16, 1983, at Siemon Lakeview Manor Estate. He was born Oct. 4, 1896, in Stonycreek Township, son of Franklin and Della (Cook) Walker. He was preceded in death by parents; his wife, the former Maggie Miller; son, Kenneth; five brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by these sons: Dayton, Central City RD 1; Jay, Elbert Jim and Glenn E., all of Friedens RD 2; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. He was a brother of Clarence and Mrs. Gladys Onstead, both of Central City RD 1. He was a retired Stonycreek Township farmer and carpenter. Member of Unity United Church of Christ. Family received friends Friday evening and will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Remains will be removed to Unity United Church of Christ to lie in state from 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. on Sunday, the Rev. Walter B. Martin officiating. Interment, Glade Union Cemetery.
