Born Dec. 17, 1918, in Somerset County, he was a son of Arch Walker of Somerset and the late Bertha (Barkley) Walker. He is survived by a son, Jeffrey of Harrisburg and these sisters and brothers: Mrs. Ruth Hillegas of Berlin RD 1; Mrs. Mary Sweitzer of Berlin; Mrs. Helen Custer of Somerset; Dalton B. of Somerset RD 1. He is preceded in death by a brother, Clark, who was killed in World War II. He was a member of Samuels Lutheran Church, IOOF of Somerset. He served as a pilot of the Army Air Force during World War II and was shot down over Germany and taken prisoner for two years. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home with Rev. Gregory Pile officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. The Republic, June 9, 1977 [W0300]
