Born April 6, 1929 in Sipesville. A son of the late Clyde and Blanche Louise (Stahl) Walker. Also preceded by stepmother, Leora Knepper Saylor Walker. Survived by wife Geraldine E. (Bowman) Walker and these children: Wayne A., married to the former Patricia A. Berkebile, Somerset; Dennis J., married to the former Heidi J. Brown, North Huntingdon; and Mark E., married to the former Karen A. Grattan, Johnstown; grandchildren, Rebecca A., wife of Kevin J. Royal, Bedford, Ohio; Valerie and Kristy Walker, Somerset; D. Montgomery Walker, Irwin; and Francesca E. Walker, Johnstown. Brother of: Kenneth L. Walker, married to the former Barbara Niemiec, Somerset RD 6; Alice Walker Beeghly Fritz, wife of Verle Fritz, Somerset; Ruth, wife of Robert Lape, Roaring Springs, and George, married to the former Gwin Bowlby, Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset. He served on the council, chairman of the property committee, usher and treasurer of the Builders Sunday School Class for many years. He was a Korean War Veteran. Member of SS. Samuel Crouse Post 181 American Legion, Somerset; Trent-Bakersville-Lavansville Rod and Gun Club, and the National Rifle Association. Avid hunter and fisherman. Retired mechanic from the former Roy Shaulis and Son Garage after 10 years service. Retired mechanic for Penelec with 27 years service. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Trinity Lutheran Church Parlor. Memorial services at 6 p.m. Friday in Trinity Lutheran Church, Pastor Robert L. Hoover Jr. officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church Organ Fund or American Cancer Society.
